Course Details

This one-day workshop is suitable for first-time basket makers or those who want to practice their skills.

You will weave a base before adding uprights to weave the side and border, finally adding a handle to make a basket with your own hands.

All materials and tools are provided, as well as tea, coffee, and biscuits throughout the day. However, please bring a packed lunch.

Please note working with willow can be tough on the hands and requires some strength, so this workshop is unsuitable for those who suffer from
arthritis or other conditions that affect the hands.

Basket Weaving / Gwehyddu Basged

  • On this two-day course, you will learn how to make a willow storage basket using the traditional stake and strand technique: woven round base, two weaving patterns to weave the sides before finishing the basket with integrated handles and a border.

    All materials and tools are provided, along with warm drinks and cake. However please bring your own lunch.

    A deposit of £25 per person is required on booking, with the total amount payable two weeks before the workshop.

    Please note all bookings are non-refundable unless a replacement is found.
